According to the analytical news outlet IRASIN, the 2026 Steel Symposium officially commenced this morning, October 27, at Isfahan University of Technology and will run through October 29. Organized by the Iron and Steel Society of Iran, the event provides a dedicated platform for knowledge exchange, the presentation of research achievements, and the evaluation of technological development solutions across the national steel industry.

The event focuses on fostering interaction among universities, research centers, industrial enterprises, and steel value chain players to align production requirements more closely with scientific and technological capabilities. Key topics shaping the future trajectory of the steel industry include advancing novel technologies, enhancing productivity, and transitioning toward sustainable manufacturing.

2026 Steel Symposium Officially Kicks Off

During the opening ceremony, Saeed Hassani, Scientific Secretary of the Symposium, presented an introductory report, followed by speeches from Abbas Najafizadeh, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Iron and Steel Society of Iran, and Mehdi Abtahi, Deputy Minister for Research at the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology.

Specialized Panel on Synergy for Green Steel Production

A specialized panel titled “Synergy of the Scientific-Industrial Ecosystem to Accelerate Green Steel Production” was also held today as part of the symposium program. The panel emphasized the critical importance of collaboration between the scientific and industrial sectors in identifying technological demands, developing localized solutions, and accelerating the deployment of research findings into manufacturing processes.

Moving toward green steel, alongside optimizing energy and resource consumption, requires developing environmentally friendly technologies and strengthening ties between research and production—making synergy among universities, knowledge-based firms, and steel enterprises a pivotal axis for industrial transformation.

International Steel Exhibition Alongside the Symposium

Held concurrently with the 2026 Steel Symposium, the International Steel Exhibition features active companies and entities across the iron and steel value chain. The exhibition offers a valuable opportunity to showcase industrial capabilities, introduce new products and technologies, and expand networks among manufacturers, equipment builders, knowledge-based enterprises, and academic centers.

Mobarakeh Steel Group and its subsidiary companies are actively participating in the event, presenting their production, technical, and technological capacities to industry stakeholders. This participation serves to broaden industrial partnerships, uncover new opportunities, and bridge corporate operational needs with innovative solutions.

The 2026 Steel Symposium continues through October 29 at Isfahan University of Technology, with IRASIN providing comprehensive coverage of news, expert insights, and the latest achievements from the event.
