Following the receipt of Iran’s first international certifications for greenhouse gas management and product carbon footprint, Mohammad Reza Sharifi, Vice President of Strategy and Technology Development, stated: “The Carbon Management Model represents a bold step for Mobarakeh Steel toward green governance, serving as a national benchmark for enterprise management and creating sustainable global value.”

According to Irasin,According to Steel correspondent, Mohammad Reza Sharifi, Vice President of Strategy and Technology Development, explained that in Mobarakeh Steel’s 1410 vision, becoming a model enterprise at the regional and global levels requires the establishment of modern governance systems across environmental, social responsibility, human capital, innovation, and technological domains. He added that the successful implementation of the Carbon Management Model and obtaining the ISO 14064 and ISO 14067 certifications mark a milestone in realizing this forward-looking governance.

This achievement consolidates a strategic approach to value creation at Mobarakeh Steel, establishing it as a national benchmark for responsible and pioneering enterprise management in the industry and national economy. The approach positions the company on a path of “green steel production, global competitiveness, and social responsibility.”

Today, Mobarakeh Steel is more than just an industrial company; it is a model of modern governance that, through transparent carbon footprint reporting, intelligent emission management, and adherence to ESG standards, plays a strategic role in shaping sustainable development policies at both national and regional levels.

From a strategic perspective, this achievement represents a crucial step in the transition from “industry-centric” to “value-centric” operations—where competitive advantage is defined not merely by production but by interactions with the environment, stakeholders, and the global value chain.

With the official implementation of this model and institutionalization of management infrastructure related to carbon emissions, Mobarakeh Steel has: achieved maturity in environmental governance; prepared to enter ecosystems conditioned on global ESG requirements; and presented a localized, scalable model for other national industries pursuing responsible and export-oriented development.

This initiative is part of Mobarakeh Steel’s broader green transformation architecture, evolving through close collaboration between the Strategy and Technology Development Vice Presidency, senior quality and sustainability management, and operations.

Undoubtedly, in the near future, investment, market access, and social legitimacy will depend on companies’ adherence to sustainable development principles and responsiveness to intergenerational concerns. With this strategic step, Mobarakeh Steel is shaping a future where mere production is insufficient; responsible production and intelligent competitiveness will be essential for survival.
