The Export Director of Mobarakeh Steel stated that a successful presence in global export markets relies on obtaining international certifications. He added that, given the company’s participation in international markets and exports to European Union countries, it is necessary to conduct evaluations and acquire the relevant certifications.

According to Irasin, According to Steel correspondent, Alireza Mansouri, Export Director of Mobarakeh Steel, explained that the European Union has, in recent years, enacted regulations for domestic production aligned with the EU’s environmental and economic policies. He added that the EU requires domestic companies to bear costs for carbon emission control, which could put them at a disadvantage compared to imported products.

He further stated that, to address this, the EU introduced the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) as a policy to curb carbon emissions while maintaining the competitiveness of its domestic industries. This mechanism imposes a tax or cost on imported goods produced in countries with less stringent environmental regulations, effectively charging them an amount equivalent to the EU’s internal carbon costs.

Mansouri emphasized that steel products, including those from Mobarakeh Steel, are subject to this policy. Given the company’s presence in international markets and its exports to EU countries, it is necessary to conduct assessments and obtain the relevant certifications. This need becomes particularly clear when considering the company’s development plans, the future competitive landscape domestically, and the global market, where exporting various products to the EU is essential.

In conclusion, the Export Director expressed gratitude to all colleagues involved in the certification process and highlighted that obtaining these certifications for final products, including hot-rolled, cold-rolled, and galvanized steel, will enable the company to pursue its export strategies in alignment with EU policies in the current and coming years.
